Dr. Steven Yuliang Wu joined the school as lecturer in Finance in October 2007. He obtained his PhD in Finance from Manchester Business School in July 2007. His PhD research project examines depositor behavior and bank risk management in the Chinese financial sector. His PhD work empirically investigate whether the effect of depositor discipline exists in China, whether the effect is the same across banks with different ownership structures, and how Chinese banks respond to depositor discipline. Earlier, he received his Msc in Banking and Finance from with distinction from University of Salford. His current research interests lie in the areas of banking risk management, and the relationship of market information and ownership structures upon bank risk management.
