Ms Katherine Young was appointed as a Teaching Fellow for the BSc Actuarial Studies degree in January 2008. Ms Young holds a first class honours degree in French and Mathematics from Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London, and is a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. Katherine has extensive actuarial experience with a leading global consultancy firm, predominantly in the Lloyd's and London markets. Key areas of expertise include quarterly reserving and forecasting for a broad range of general insurance lines of business. In addition, Katherine has significant lecturing experience across a spectrum of subjects for professional qualifications. Her research interests lie in the quantification and management of the General Insurance cycle.
