CALL FOR PAPERS

Conference on Economic Policy

July 15-16, 2010

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

The first Conference on Economic Policy is to be held in Ulaanbaatar on July 15 and 16, 2010 with the support of Ministry of Education, Culture and Science in Mongolia. The organizers are Tuvshintugs Batdelger (National University of Mongolia), Bat Buyantsogt (National University of Mongolia), Ragchaasuren Galindev (Queen’s University Belfast) and Damba Lkhagvasuren (Concordia University, Montreal).

The conference is primarily intended for academic researchers and graduate (PhD) students. Theoretical and empirical papers from all policy related areas are welcome. Examples of topics of interest include: labor market dynamics; macroeconomics; small open economy; political economy; public finance; monetary theory; development; and global economy. Submission of papers in other related areas is encouraged as well. All presentations are in plenary sessions.

If you are interested in attending this conference, please e‐mail a paper by April 30, 2010 to g.ragchaasuren@qub.ac.uk. The final program will be announced in May.

Please inform potentially interested researchers about this conference, and feel free to forward the call for papers to any interested parties.

Notes:

1.      Graduate students from Mongolia who are doing their PhD outside the country are encouraged to participate as it may be an opportunity to establish a network among Mongolian research economists.

2.      Those who teach economics at Mongolian universities on various levels are encouraged to participate as it will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas about improving the existing curriculum.

4.      Citizens of certain countries require visa to travel to Mongolia. To find out if you need visa, please visit the website of Mongolian Embassy in your area.
